Shiona Frayne’s practice over the last three years has been largely focused on still-life representations of issues that stem-from, or are a direct consequence of, the Climate Crisis. Her work aims to look closer into mundane day-to-day habits and highlight their impact on the climate. She often describes the aim of her work as to make the “Ordinary, Extraordinary”. Frayne’s work often has a distinctive grid style to it often used to represent the repetitive nature of the topics. In her most recent work “Would you like a receipt with that?”  Frayne aims to highlight society’s odd relationship towards consumption. The work is made up of hundreds of receipts, collected over six months. Frayne was keen to mimic the act of consumption by giving each of the audience a chance to take a receipt home with them.
